Hurricane : The Unsung Hero

Last post of 2022 and, until I can get to Duxford to see the new Hurricane exhibition*, I thought I'd have a roundup of some of the UK based Hurricanes I've managed to catch over the years. Photos in no particular order but starting with one of my personal favourites, six in formation at a Duxford air show in 2017...

Lunch time wander and a quick peek into H3. Plowing through a fair bit of 222 (Natal) Squadron RAF film today from late 1944, only appropriate a photo or two of MH434 and Spitfire friends ("MV268"/MV293, "MT928"/MV154, BM597, TD314 & RW382 )..

Lunch-break snaps...

Harvard FE992 was just landing as I hit the southside for lunch and then, as I finished off my sandwich, Spitfire T9 PV202 made a run & break to land with another satisfied customer...

Windy Wednesday (again)...

An almost horizontal windsock didn't deter the twin T9s of Aerial Collective taking off for a two ship experience to the north. Caught their return as I sat and grabbed my lunch...

Special day for PV202...

Today is the 78th anniversary of PV202 entering squadron service with 33 Squadron at Merville, Northern France...
PT462 returned from a flight as I parked up for my lunch.

Flying visit...

No need to go to Duxford to see Spitfires when the Spitfires come to you...
