Mustang Movements...

The news of the first flight of a restored P-51D Mustang from the Sywell operation of Air Leasing hit the internet today. For many years Mustang G-MSTG was flown as "Janie" by Maurice Hammond but was unfortunately badly damaged in a crash in 2016 at Hardwick.

Now re-registered as G-CLNV it has been rebuilt and converted to a dual control configuration with a new fuselage from the US and will be moved to the "W Air Collection" at La Ferte Alais in the near future.

Also from Warbirdnews.com comes the report that a dual control Mustang (this time a CAC licence built CA-18 Mk.21) VH-MFT, A68-110, wearing the markings of an 82 Sqn RAAF aircraft A68-769 "Snifter"/"Mabel II" will be dismantled for shipping to the UK and to Sywell where it will be operated by UWF.
