Duxford :: 29.IV.15 :: Avenger Down...

My journey to lunch was diverted by the Avenger being towed to H3 for 'storage' - quick snaps taken on my phone - no time was wasted in getting the aircraft in and doors closed...

"To me. To you. To me…"

Looking down while we can - we'll soon be looking up...

Duxford :: 22.IV.15

Some of the residents of H3 were enjoying the sunshine while the Vosper MTB was shipped out. No bottle of champers broken over the bow as it was loaded up and set 'sail' to the Royal Navy Museum at Yeovilton. Mullions are slowly being removed from the front of AAM. The Sharkmouth Mustang was parked outside of ARCo - not a very good shot but the first time I've seen it in the flesh...

More tractor than Mustang...

Just before 'closing time'…

PV202 put on a spirited display...

Then ML407 returned...

RF•E formerly HA•C was towed back from H5...

…and tucked up in H3

Also tucked up for the night.

Meanwhile the Bearcat went off to play...

Duxford :: 15.IV.15 :: Shuffle time

A bit of a 'scramble' this lunchtime as some of the contents of H3 were allowed to bask in the sunshine briefly to permit the Blenheim to be towed out. Yak-3 "White 100" (G-CGXG) was giving a short display and brings a total of two Yaks (Yakkity Yak?) to the strength of Duxford for a while. The nice chaps from ARCo left the Blenheim in a photo opportunity spot for the swarm of 'snaparrazi' that descended on it!...

Random Revisit № 5 :: July 1986...

A trio of images shot around 1986 at Alconbury (now confirmed as Air Tattoo 86, July 27 - stash of 'gizzits' found!) - not very good quality as it was a 35mm Olympus Mju pointy shooty type camera if I recall. No Exif files to refer back to in those days!

Air Tattoo '86 sticker
527th Patch……cap front 'remains'……sticker
Some memorabilia dug up to link the photos below to a date.
Who needs EXIF?….

Wot Cat woz dat?

I'd wear a pink bucket...

The 'peculiar' choice of head gear for the Duxford based "Spitfire experience" flights has been noted over on "In Reach".
Looks like the passengers are wearing the MicroAvionics MM020B microlight helmet - Link

I made the comment I'd wear a pink bucket - now I'm not too sure…

Random Revisit № 4 :: July 2009

Not a 'pukka' FW190 but one of FlugWerk's replicas 990013. Still glad to have seen it fly in the hands of Marc "Leon" Mathis. Sadly it ended up in the sea during a display at "100 ans Aeronavale" 22th June 2010 in Hyères Southern France. Now at MeierMotors I believe for a rebuild eventually.

And the "The Horsemen" doing their routine...
