MT818/G-AIDN - 2025 scheme

I was fortunate enough today to nip down to Duxford after spotting Spitfire T-MkVIII G-AIDN/MT818 operating from there carrying out Spitfire experience flights...
She has been painted to represent Lady Ellen III WZ-JJ MH894 as flown by Lt John Fawcett 309th Fighter Squadron, 31st Fighter Group, USAA
F for the 2025 season. Also Spitfire Mk IXc  RW382 Porky II was present to complete the 309th FS scene.

PT462 was also carrying out flight duties. Not long after I got there MT818 departed for Norwich.

Found a vantage point to get a shot of the Canberra. Which was nice...

Wednesday Warbird activity at DX

A little bit of the 'warbird' activity seen during my lunch break saunter yesterday...
PV202 took off with another 'fly-in-a-Spitfire' customer and P-51D "Jersey Jerk" did a fly by (from Sywell by the route on FR24?).
Spitfire T9 PT462 also outside
.
BBMF Dakota was once again outside exchanging stories with the visiting R4D-6S...

"Ready-4-Duty"

In the 69th anniversary year of my first flight in a Silver City Airways DC3/C-47 thought it apt to have a look around the R4D-6S "Ready-4-Duty" while she is residing at Duxford during her European "Navy To Victory Tour 1945-2025".
Built in 1944, "Ready-4-Duty" (Bureau Number 50783) is an R4D-6S, the U.S. Navy’s version of the DC-3 and C-47.
PV202 flew in after another fly in a Spitfire experience.

Wednesday Warbird Wander...

Some of the aircraft out in the sunshine yesterday...
Managed to see the Douglas R4D-6S 50783 "Ready 4 Duty" as she was on 'media tour' duty. Last time this aircraft was in the UK/Europe was in 1985! Next to her was the BBMF's C-47 Dakota ZA947 in her SEAC paint scheme.
