Apparently...

...among World War II pilots who underwent training at Sywell were Pierre Clostermann and Paddy Finucane, who soloed there.

John Niven served with both these pilots in his time on 602 City Of Glasgow Sqn.

Another cool factor to my flight in ML407 from Sywell.
