Duxford In A Different Light - The Spitfire Special"

 Worked this event and snapped a few images when I could...

First saunter of 2022

Weather looking good, I took the opportunity for a drive down to Duxford for a couple of hours...
Spitfire T9 PT462 was returning from making someone happy, Hurricane V7497 flew as did the TFC Wildcat/Martlet "JV579".
Another peek at the Spitfire exhibition as well...

"Spitfire - Evolution of an Icon" exhibition at IWM Duxford

 Took the advantage of a slot in my hectic social schedule to zip down to have a look at the "Spitfire - Evolution of an Icon" at Duxford. Very busy with visitors so getting a shot of an empty space in the conservation section of Airspace was hard. Tried a long exposure (~60s) with ND10 filter with some success...

Probably the last visit of 2021...

 

Spot the mistakes...

During my brief post lunch saunter the only Spitfire T9 glimpsed was this one. Count the errors...
For the price you'd think it would be correct!...

Wednesday Wander...

Took the opportunity for another saunter today - just a couple of hours. A bit T9 heavy but I'm sure you'll forgive me...

Later, on returning home, the sight of a 'dogfight' between a Spitfire and 'Me109' just to the south gave a small sense of what might have been seen in the skies 81 years ago...

Battle Of Britain Day Duxford

Popped into IWM Duxford today to sort out some 'admin' and there was quite a lot of activity going on with several warbirds departing and other local movements. The Spitfire MkI pair 'scramble' was appropriate for the day...
